Backcountry Creative Retreat

March 29th-April 4th, 2026

This week is open for individuals or friend groups who want to explore Singla and the island of Arnøya in all of its winter wonderland glory, but at a slower ski pace that allows for plenty of time to observe and capture the inspirations of the Arctic. We will enjoy daily adventures around the island on backcountry skis, with an emphasis on safe, moderate terrain, and stops along the way to sketch at a mountain hut or en plein air as weather allows. Additional creative activities will happen back at the house cozy by the woodstove.

Creating from NatureExploring creative media using foraged materials and inspirations

July 24-30,2026

This retreat is for people who want to spend time surrounded by the breathtaking Northern Norwegian landscape and  take those inspirations directly into making art, adding new techniques to your creative repertoire using natural materials.   Facilitated by Isobel Coney and host Hannah Viano, this retreat that will include activities such as natural ink making, handmade paper making, indigo dyeing, weaving, and needle felting using locally sourced sheep’s wool.

August 21st-27th,2026

Experienced educators, artists, and facilitators, Hannah Viano and Anna Brones have designed this creative retreat to be a space of inspiration, collaboration, and rejuvenation. Explore a variety of mediums and methods, and come away inspired to take your creativity in new directions.
